What type of birth control would be best for me?!

Question: i'm a 16 year old female
i'm a light smoker
i'm in a long term relationship
i have no diseases
neither does my partner
there is a history of cancer in my family
my great grandma had leukemia [sp?]
my grandma had a noncancerous cyst on her ovary,
my uncle has prostate cancer...
idk if what they all had is relavent, but i guess theres no harm in tellin anyways
i've never had a child,
although i have been pregnant before,
i had a miscarage after about a month of being pregnant,

[[the pill probably wouldn't be the best choice because i'm really bad at remembering to take my meds.]]

I have used the depo shot for more than 10 years now, Sort have been a human guinea pig lol. Its only recommended to use for no more than 2 years. I smoke (2packs a day) Cancer runs in my family as well. I have had no problems with the depo shot, no bone density problems, or other side affects.
Something I really enjoy is I have no periods, but a lot of women continue to have them.
The other nice thing about it , is it is good for 3-6 months. No forgetting to take it =-)

try the shot (depoprovera?) if you have problems remembering to take meds, its once every 6 months.

please dont do the patch, i've heard sooooo many horror stories about it

diaphragm, condoms, foams are my best bets. it's the least invasive, inexpensive. contraceptive injections have side effects from skin rashes to brittle bones.

I definitely do not recommend depo provera (shot). I was on it and a majority of women suffer horrible health issues because of it.

You really should try the pill. Set your cell phone calendar to go off and then take it when the alarm goes off. I'm also horrible at remembering, but the alarm really helps!
