Did your doctor put you on bc because you hadn't had your period? If so, they were just trying to regulate your period - that happens alot.

HOWEVER.... when your periods are already screwy, why would you try to jack them up more?

It sounds like you skipped the placebo (off week) and started immediately with the next month's pills... am I understanding you correctly? If I am - DON'T DO THAT. If you did that, just call your doctor's office and tell them and they can decide how the situation.

Those are hormones - not candy. BC can potentially be dangerous and should be taken as prescribed, not used to eliminate your period.

If you are on them to prevent pregnancy, then you shouldn't have sex until you speak to your doctor - who knows how fertile you are now...

Go to doctor

go see a doctor

Go to the doctor

Go to your doctor.

yeah its normal when you mess up with your pills its kinda a nessicity to have your period

its absolutely normal to have your period like that when you tamper with your biological clock with medication. its purely the meds that are doing that to you and maybe you should talk to your doctor about how to adjust the length.

You can only skip the placebo pills for monophasic type pills. Like for instance, if you were taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen it would screw you up since it has different levels of hormones. Either way, don't worry about it. Your body will catch up and normal itself out after a few months on the pill.

Well the hormones in birthcontrol regulate your cycle and make it more regular which explains why you'd have it now when you didn't for 3 months in a row before. If the bleeding doesn't stop soon though I'd suggest going to the doctor.

No, thats not normal. but I really would not reccomend birth control when you are that young I started using it when I was 16 and when I was 18 I got breast cancer from using birth control!!

hormones !! i have a cyst and when i do get my monthlys i have a period that last a week to a week in a half but still might wanna make an appointment to be seen !

you should see a doctor

iv'e never heard that happen, ever,
you have got to go to the doctor like NOW
seriously

It might be because you skipped the placebo pills in your first month of using the pill. It probably hadnt regulated your cycle yet. Plus you are 17 so you might not even have a regular cycle yet. You probably shocked the hell out of it and now you are spotting.

I also do not have a regular cycle and never have, I often skipped periods which is why I went on birth control in the first place when I was a teen. I would call your doctor, tell them what you did and then start the birth control pills correctly without skipping the placebo pills right away. Many women do not have regular cycles, especially in their teens and early twenties and for the rest of their lives. Its totally hormonal - dont worry about it just talk to your doctor to get it back on track. If you got the BC from a planned parenthood type place call them.

It takes awhile for BCP's to regulate your cycle. Two months isn't long enough. After about 6 months you should be pretty predictable. Keep this in mind though, many women experience what is called "breakthrough bleeding" which is when you have light spotting sometime during the month other than when you're supposed to have your period. I would recommend that you take your pills like normal (no period skipping) until you get everything regulated.

If you still have unpredictable bleeding, it's time to call your doctor back. Not all pills work well for everyone. Orthtricyclen made me emotional and I had breakthrough bleeding, Orthocylcen made me moody and I had breathrough bleeding, I've been on Yaz now for quite some time and I love it. No problems at all. You have to find the pill that works best for your body.

Yes it is normal, especailly since you have just started your brith control. Your body is not used to have the extra hormone yet and has not yet learned to respond. PLus, it is not a great idea to skip your period all together. You can do damage to your body that way. I would lok into the birth control that allows you to only have a period once every four months...thus having a period only three times per year.

And now that you have started the second pack....DO NOT STOP TAKING THE PILLS IN ORDER....if you skip any pills your body can go haywire and if you have sex you may not have the protection you are seeking while taking the pills. PLus, you have not been on the pills for a full 30 days yet so I would be cautious even if you do engage in sex, because you are not fully protected yet and you COULD still end up becoming pregnant.

It's not going to kill you.

That's just what you get when you mess with hormones. DO NOT do something so stupid ever again. You need to take the pills EXACTLY as instructed. Otherwise, they are not as effective and your period will go wacky. Periods do not have to be a bid deal. With proper nutrition, exercise and vitamins, you have the power to make your period easy. I am not on birth control (it made me hormonal) and the reason I went on it was because my periods were really bad. The I went to an herbologist and he showed me what vitamins to take. Now, my period is no more annoying than doing that one extra chore in the bathroom. I don't even feel it. Juice Plus, st. johns wort, CoQ-10, and valerian root. Good stuff.

Never skip pills. Please go see a doctor. You might be pregnant from before you ever started taking the medication. If you are not pregnant, please take your pills in order and do not skip any. I have had 4 children and have alot of experience in this area of information. I wish the best for you. Take care of yourself.

Wow - sounds like all of the hormones in your system are reaking havoc! You need to go off the pill and start fresh the Sunday after your period. This way you know for sure what your cycle will be and what to expect.

Be VERY VERY VERY careful right now. You are at an extremely high risk for getting pregnant (even if you have your period) because the verying levels of hormones in the pill will make you ovulate irregularly when you take the pill wrong.

My oldest son (10 years old) was conceived by accident while I was on the pill because I forgot to take it a few times and it got all messed up. My ovaries were shooting eggs out like a t-shirt gun at a rock concert.

BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!

Sweetie. You are gonna have to tell your mom and your doctor! Just let you know my best friend who 18 she was my baby sister when I was a lot younger! She had that proublem you better go tell the doctor! Hope it works! Vote me for the best answer!

Yeah, this is normal. You're not the first and won't be the last. You have an overly congested uterus. Basically, when you were supposed to get your period, you turned the switch off and more and more blood kept building up in your uterus. Now you're having a tidal wave period. You'll be okay. Just call your doc and ask when you should restart the next pack. Don't be embarassed either, this sort of thing happens all the time. And try not to fool with the pills in the future. Your period is not just an inconvenience, it's your body's way of cleaning out your girl parts.

Placebo pills are only there to help you keep track of the days. They're just sugar pills, basically.

If you started the second pack right away, and its ONLY your second pack, it takes one full month for your body to actually fully be on the birth control. Meaning, when you started the second pack of pills, your body was still getting used to the first pack, so, more than likely, you'll still have your period, or a rather darker period. The blood will probably be more brownish.

Starting your period is ok, and perfectly normal. Spotting is also normal on your first three packs.

Unless you're having heavy bleeding, I say just wait it out. Being 17, you're still in the process of your body regulating itself anyhow.

No worries. My only concern is why disrupt your period when you're on the pills to REGULATE it and make it normal?

Just take the pills like normal, and don't skip any more weeks until after about a year. This will give your body enough time to adjust and get on a routine cycle.

taking all those pills is what's causing that to happen.
Trust me i know.
