Hi, I have a ob/gyn appointment soon and I am always wondering, do women shave d!

Question: I know that I do, but I heard that people don't. Is it disgusting for me to do that and is the doctor going to think I am crazy? Please help.

I work in a Labor and Delivery unit. We see all variations. No one thinks anything of it, honestly. It's a personal preference.

Yes, some women do shave it clean.

I like seeing that

oh i definitely do. I do because i believe it looks better, and is more clean and more comfortable. (my personal thoughts) I think guys like it better to....

I don't think the dr. cares one way or the other. He has seen it all I am sure.

I keep it trimmed up. I dont necessarily shave the whole thing bald but I keep it very very short and trimmed up. I know that there are some people out there that just go with everything completely natural and not 'taken care of'. I dont think the gyno really cares.. he/she probably sees so many that they dont even think about how it looks, they are doctors they are focused on what you are there for not how long your pubic hair is but I do agree with you that I wondered the same thing.

i worked for an og/gyn and unless you have a jungle and yeah i've seen it all we usually pay no attention. I myself shave. but lots of people have their own styles... trust me your doctor and nurse could care less

Do what you always do, shave. Better to keep shaved then to be stubblely. It makes no matter to the ob/gyn.

Thats a very personal choice, and either way is not disgusting.

It's all about personal preference. No one else's opinion matters. Do what suits you best.

As an intern, I have worked in OB/GYN clinics, and I can tell you that some do and some dont. Younger people tend more toward shaving, or at least trimming, so it is not disgusting. Never have I once heard a doctor comment on someones "hairstyle." They have seen it all, no matter how weird you think your situation is.

Nope, the doctor wont think you're crazy. I shave sometimes, but not all the times, so my dr has seen be both ways. They don't care about your shaving habits, as long as you haven't cut yourself or caused an infection. I heard a story where this girl went her yearly exam and before leaving her house, decided to use this new lotion her mom bought her. So she slathered herself up and walked out the door. When she was propped up on the table, the dr went to do the exam and looked at the girl and then in between her legs and said " You're fancy today". The girl was really uncomfortable with her saying that, but since she'd been going to the dr for years, she let it go. When she got home, she went to take a shower and looked at herself naked and noticed that she had sparkles all over her genital area! Apparently, the cream has multi colored sparkles and that was what the dr was commenting on!!!

So anyway, long story short, dr's don't care....

i shave. I think it gives them a better view at what they are looking at, and then you don't have to feel self conscience about a bush!. i shave all the time though not just for the gyno

shi t when i go to the ob/gyn, you would think i was going on a date and planning to get laid.....i shave my legs and down there.....you really don.t have to tho, believe me, they.ve seen every kind of cooch....old c ooch, young c ooch, dirty kind, clean kind, herpes kind, other diseased kind, completely shaved kind.....ive gone w/anywhere from trimmed to completely bald....

I've read the best thing to do if you don't want shaving side effects but don't want the hair growing wild is to trim the hair with a small pair of scissors. I thin it out a little with a razor, but I don't shave it all off, because my skin is sensitive. You can do as you like, though. Doctors don't care, as long as you bathe regularly.
