What causes excessive vaginal discharge?!

Question: That's thick, slimy and gets all over your clothes. What does this mean? It's been going on for weeks now.

I called my doc and left a message. So if all you're gonna say is 'call your doc' don't answer because I already did.

its just part of your cycle. you are probably getting close to ovulating or are ovulating. discharge is very normal unless it has a bad smell or odd color . I have had this same problem since i was in my early teens its very normal nothing to worry about just wear pantyliners..i know it can be annoying.

Different Types of Discharge

White: Thick, white discharge is common at the beginning and end of your cycle. Normal white discharge is not accompanied by itching. If itching is present, thick white discharge can indicate a yeast infection.

Clear and stretchy: This is "fertile" mucous and means you are ovulating.

Clear and watery: This occurs at different times of your cycle and can be particularly heavy after exercising.

Yellow or Green: May indicate an infection, especially if thick or clumpy like cottage cheese or has a foul odor.

Brown: May happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina. Old blood looks brown.

Spotting Blood/Brown Discharge: This may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle. Sometimes early in pregnancy you may have spotting or a brownish discharge at the time your period would normally come. If you have spotting at the time of your normal period rather than your usual amount of flow, and you have had sex without using birth control, you should check a pregnancy test.

If it's what I had it is just an overproduction of normal bacteria. My doctor had given me a prescription although I cannot remember what it was called. Also, I was told to use Dove body wash or ones that don't have a bunch of stuff in it...the more natural the better.

virgin bacteria its when you clean down there too good and ur killing good bacteria you need u have to go get med and you take them seven days and if u had sex with out a condom dont worry about the guy he doesnt have it it dies in him in 2 days

Dont worry. Im getting it now and am having to wear a pantyliner. It is just your vagina's way of cleaning its self and clearing out bacteria.
Just ask your mum or some one to get you some pantyliners. If you are to embarresed- borrow your sisters=D thats wat id did!
hope this helps

I THINK it is probably just you are ovulating, sweetie. .......Some women ovulate way more than others. I do and so do my daughters and thats why i get pregnant easily. If it is thick and mucousy and sticky...That is ovulation.

Nothing at all abnormal...in fact its healty, it cleans you up, its just ANNOYING as all get out!!!

The vagina is self-cleaning. It's probably just doing it's job. Sometimes it can mean a gland is overactive. Discharge changes the closer you get to ovulation also. It can also mean you have a yeast infection.
