Do the mood swings from being on the birth control pill lessen in time?!

Question: Iv on my third pack, Iv heard that after 3 months things get better, but I have to get my repeat prescription soon, and I dont want to get it all sorted and then have to change it all in a few weeks!
I felt really upset and angry the first month, ok the second month, then in my week off the second month, got really upset all the time, and just sort of stayed like that.
Should it go away soon??

Sometimes it will and sometimes it won't. If you have been feeling depressed, have anger outbursts, uncontrollable crying spells, ect. and it is getting worse, go and talk to your doctor about switching prescriptions.

I had this problem...although I only lasted 1 pack at that point (Alesse). It got the point of complete and utter depression (and I know depression incredibly well...clinical depression runs throughout my family and oddly enough, mainly in the males in my family. I was incredibly depressed when my parents separated and it ultimately destroyed my relationship with my ex. Eventually it got better as my parents finally split and went their separate ways and for a few years now, I've been completely fine) that it started to scare me. I was angry A LOT, felt like throwing temper tantrums, cried A LOT, never wanted to see my [current] bf, didn't want to talk to anybody and just felt utterly alone. Much the same feelings that I had when I was depressed when my parents split. I was REALLY scared so I went to my doctor before finishing my first pack and got a prescription change (also for other reasons such as continual bleeding, headaches, extreme tiredness, etc.).

I've been on a few different prescriptions, but not with the same side effects as what I had on my first one, but had to be switched due to other adverse side effects.

I am currently on Yasmin and almost finishing up my first month. I have had a few anger outbursts and at least once a week I cry uncontrollably, but I am hoping that it will go away in due time (it seems that it is getting better slowly) but it has been nothing like my first prescription where I felt like this every single day and it got worse and worse everyday.

If it gets worse and/or continually keeps up and keeps you down in the dumps, talk to your doctor about it, but keep taking your pills as you regularly would. Unfortunately, maybe, this prescription wasn't quite right for you and you may have to try again. The other 2 prescriptions that I've had in between the Alesse and Yasmin hasn't made me very angry or upset at all, but had to be taken off of them for other effects.

Yes and no. For some people the side effects will always be a problem. Other adjust to the hormones provided by the pill. As always, everyone is different :)
