an ectopic pregnancy wont be detected through a blood test. It will either give you a pos or neg if you're pregnant and tell u if you have any risks (anemia etc) but it wont declare an ectopic. Have an ultrasound scheduled asap if you are really concerned. Tell the doctor where the pain is and have him run the ultra sound to see of any abnormalities. Give him your concerns as well. If it is an ectopic your in excessive pain since your fallopian tube has ruptured. Good Luck!!!

The definitive diagnosis is made by ultrasound, the blood tests should be able to identify a pregnancy of any sort or lack thereof. if you are worried about an ectopic pregnancy you should probably visit the ER, or at least go to a GYN who can do a quick ultrasound. a ruptured ectopic can be very deadly.
