Vaginal redness and itching? ladies only kinda graphic!?!
Question: i thought i had a yeast infection a couple days ago because i'm on antibiotics that can cause that...i used the otc cream monistat and it made it worse...it became extremely red and dry to the point where in some spots its cracked like your knuckles do in the winter when they're dry...it is super red and there is no moisture so i don't know if the monistat made it worse and it's just super dry and irritated or if it's something else? i used the vagigard and that seems to relieve the burn and itch that accompanies it sometimes (mostly burning) but it's still just as red as it was yesterday. i'm in a committed relationship and was tested for std's recently so i don't think it's that cause it doesn't really sound like anything either. there is no discharge or smell or sores. i know they say herpes can feel like a yeast infection but if i was having all these symptoms wouldn't i have the sores?? i dont' know a lot about that

Ok. The medicine they give you WILL make you chapped down there sometimes. I know from experience. It almost feels like your nose will after you get over a cold... it hurts and it sucks but won't last long. I wouldn't put anything on it.. besides Vaseline maybe. Be gentle when you use the bathroom too. Don't worry. :)
I really wish I had listened to you when you said "ladies only". Gross!
Time to consult with your GYN. Any more self treatment can make things worse.
Maybe you had an allergic reaction to the monistat? I don't know but I think it's probably time to get it checked out to see what's going on. I wouldn't keep randomly treating it until you know for sure what it is.
