Cramping after pap smear?!
Question: I went to the doctor for my yearly exam this past Thursday and I have been cramping ever since. I have never cramped like this after a pap smear. Its almost like period cramps but seeing as I dont get my periods because of PCOS, i know its not that. She also said that I am not pregnant :( so I know its not that. Has anyone else ever had this before?

If the doctor is not gentle with the instrument used and has exerted unnecessary pressure, severe pain can follow. Also if she takes too long a time and there is a strong cold draft (from air-con) there may be possibilities of cramp too. If you are too tense and your muscles are taut and tensed, the pap smear can be difficult for the doctor to perform smoothly.
Call your doctor and tell her about this.
the same thing happend to me too...
and god did those cramps hurt! i didnt call my dr or anything i just took some advil..
but if you cant handle the pain u might want to give her a call
