Should I be using deodorant or antiperspirant?!

Question: I am a 15 yr old girl who seems to be late in developing in everything: breasts, haven't even gotten period yet. But on the matter of armpits, I've noticed that i seem to sweat a lot in that area. i don't think i smell yet, but i'm self conscious about the sweat marks.

should i start using deodorant or antiperspirant? if so, when do i use it and how often?

You can use start using antiperspirant now. That stops sweat from developing and deodorant masks the smell, so you don't need both or a product that has both. Most people use it in the morning right after a bath/shower or when they get dressed; if you sweat an extreme amount, you can use it more often but probably not more than 3-4 times a day. For instance, you might want to use it right before a job interview or anything else that makes you nervous. When I was your age, I sweated so much that I used armpit shields but hopefully that won't happen to you.
When your sweat develops an odor, you will almost definitely notice right away so you don't need to worry about smelling sweaty to other people without knowing about it.

sure, and use it every morning

I think you should start using it. You should use deoderant once or twice a day. It really helps and it's never really too early to start using it.

Antiperspriant probably.

Heyyy i'm 15, late developer but have my periods.. oh well

Deodorant and Anti-perspirant are two different products, but Anti-perspirants include deodorant ingredients.

The names explain their purpose: Deodorant is used to mask odor, and anti-perspirants prevent sweating.

Anti-perspirants are controversial. Many brands contain aluminum and other ingredients believed to be harmful to the body.

Sweating is one of the way the body releases toxins and waste. If you don't sweat, these toxins can accumulate in your body and set the stage for disease (toxic buildup in the body suppresses the immune system, making one susceptible to illness).

It's up to you to decide whether or not to use an anti-perspirant. Do some research and ask questions elsewhere until you are satisfied with the answer. Sweating can be embarrassing for some, but it means your body is working efficiently.

As for your late development, everyone is on their own time. There are many factors that affect when you'll start your period or grow breasts. If you have low body fat percentage (meaning, if you're thin with little fat), that may be the reason why your period hasn't started.

If you find yourself worrying more than usual, ask your mom to take you to a gynecologist who can explain this issue to you. A good gynecologist will suggest to speak to you alone so that you can feel comfortable asking all the questions you have without a parent questioning what's appropriate.

Be Well,
