Don't worry about it. Doctors know all about the reproductive system and this is nothing they haven't seen before during a physical exam. I have worn a pad before during a physical when I just had my underwear and bra on, and it was no big deal at all. Just change it before your appointment and relax.

If part of that physical is a pap test you'll have to cancel and reschedule. Call your doctor's office and speak to a nurse and tell her what you said here. She'll check your chart and if need be you will just reschedule. Happens to us all at some time.

If you are having your annual 'female' physical, call and reschedule. They will understand. The doctor cannot do a pap smear if you are on your period.

Be well!

you should definitely reschedule, especially if you are having a pap being that doctor will have to stick his fingers in the same place as the blood is coming out.

Well if you are going because of menstrual issues, don't worry about it. Doctors have female patients all the time like that. However, if you are going for your annual, you don't want to be menstruating as it can affect the pap smear. However, you should call your doctor's office and speak with the nurse.

reschedule

They're not making you get in a hospital gown. They're basically going to do any/all of these:

-listen to your heart / breathing regulations
-look in ears
-look in mouth
-make you follow a stick with your eyes
-take blood pressure
-check reflexes
-maybe have you lay down and push on your tummy a little
-ask if you feel sick/queezy/odd at any time

nothing to worry about <3

If it is just a physical and not a visit to the gyno, they don't check your vagina. They press your stomach to feel for any irregularities but if you tell your doctor you are on your period they will understand. Don't be embarrassed they hear tons of weird stories everyday, your's is one of the more understanding.
