Question: ok so im 12. and i havnt started my period.
but im a little clueless.
what is ovulation? i hear people talk about it.
and i have discharge EVERYDAY.
when i first got it, it was a milky color and not alot.
but now its clear and somewhat sticky and whatever.
some ppl say it means i'll start my period in about a year.
and ppl say you'll start about a year after your breasts begin to develope. and i know "theres no way to know. every girl is different. your time will come. blah blah blah" but i mean there has to be some signs about when i might start. and i dont think im near to start just yet. i'd say maybe another year.
but i have a lot of questions so please tell me everything you can and more.

i think u will have it in about a year i had my period a year after dischrarge and ovulation is eggs dying and turning into blood aka ur period i think this website will help alot it has great puberty info

I have had discharge for a year, I had a bit of blood in my underwear yesterday, no flow today or yesterday except for that spot, and no I don't my my period. I have to be an annoying one and say you can't totally tell, but there are pretty obvious signs. Listen to your body. And ovulation if I am not mistaken means one of your ovaries releases an egg.

Well when I got mine i was about 10 or 11 in 5th grade, but it was early for me. I can just say you gotta wait for it becuase mine came unexpectedly and young and my friend's came at age 14. So i guess you just gotta kinda wait. Oh and trust me...its nothing to beg for. Yes at first its kool (your older and a women and crap) but then its ANNOYING! best of luck! lots of love! xoxo =)

if it is sticky it might be ***...when women and men get turned on enough they will ***...it might be a little it might be a lot...ovulation is when the egg is moving through and your ovaries are producing a new egg...you will probably get your period when you are 13...it sounds like it to me...some signs that you are going to be getting your period is mood swings, cramps things like that...this might be a question to ask your mom too....she will be very helpful since she has gone through it several times already....

theres no way you can predict when youll start its normal between ages 12-17 when i got mine i didnt even have cramps the first time it just started andthen after that i started to get cramps and they werent even that bad 2 aleave pills get rid of it right away and y do you care when ull start aslong as its befor 17 your fine.

ovulation is when an egg is released from the ovary down the fallopian tube and is ready to be fertilised.

sings your getting your first period:
your hips getting wider
hair growing under your arms and around your nipples and vulva
sweating under your arms
developing acne
PMS

Every girl is different but I didn't have discharge before I got my first period. I do now every 2 weeks before my period though {the sticky clear kind}. But ovul;ation is when the egg in your ovaries travel down the fallopian tubes and stick to the lining of your uterus, if you don't have sex and the egg is not fertilized, it disintegrates and the lining of your uterus thickens. At the end of this 28-35 day time period, your period comes out.

I'm sorry, but there's not much you can go on to guess when your period will show up. There's the usual puberty symptoms, but it's still pretty random. However, if you start feeling a dull cramping in your lower abdomen, you're probably getting close.

As for ovulation, it's pretty simple. At the beginning of the cycle your body releases hormones that do two things: trigger one of your ovaries to start maturing a few oocytes (or tiny fluid fill sacks on your ovaries that house an immature egg) and thicken the lining of your uterus. (Normally your body will alternate ovaries, ovulating from the left one one month and the right one the next.) Then about fourteen days before your period should come, the most mature of the oocytes will usually rupture and release the mature egg. This is ovulation.

At that point, the egg begins traveling down the Fallopian tube. It takes between six and eleven days for the egg to reach the uterus. If the egg wasn't fertilized or the embryo isn't able to implant in the lining, more hormones are released, which trigger the break down of the lining. This is where cramping and bleeding come in to play as nerves and capuliaries are affected, and your period begins.
