I am 11 and started my period :(?!
Question: I am 11 years old and I'm turning 12 years old in March. Today I started my periods for the first time, and I told my Mum. She was like omg omg omg congrats and it was so embarrasing. Anyways thats not the question. She is now telling everyone I have my period and I hate it. Secondly I want to use tampons. Do you think thats a good idea at my age? I just hate the feeling of the blood dripping out.

aww, if u get the chance, like in the car or something, say to your mum 'id really appreciate it if you kept it quiet that i have my period, because its kinda personal. please, can you respect it? its a bit embarrassing...
with the tampons, use em if u want, im in the same situation as u, im 13 and havent had my period many times, but i kinda want to use tampons, but i kinda dont... i find that pads feel like im sitting in smelly diapers!! but i tried a tampon that i got in a free sample thing, and i didnt really like it. there isnt an age limit for them though... (which surprised my mum coz she doesnt seem to like tampons!!) so yer, if you really want tampons, go for it, but make sure you read the all instructions correctly and that u wear a big pad at might time! hope i helped hunni!!

i started mine 2 days after my 10th birthday, use tampons if you like my mum put me off that till i was a bit older, only cos it seemed unnatural to put things up there at that age

As far as your mom goes, sit her down and tell her that you would prefer that she not tell everyone and their sister about you starting your period. I know how it is at that age, you are embarrassed. As far as tampons, I say go for it. I taught myself how to use tampons. Make sure you folow the directions and relax.
use pads they are more comftable, even though you may have to change them a few times a day depending on how heavy they get, as it varies from month to month. My mother started hers at 12, and I started mine at 15 a later starter. But I will sugest pads, as you will have to wear pads at night anyhow as you cannot wear a tampon to bed.
It is fine to use tampons at your age. In my opinion tampons are better then pads. I'm not sittin in blood if I use a tampon. It's much cleaner and you don't have to constantly smell it.
You should use pads for now. Wait until your older for tampons.
