Depo jab after childbirth??!

Question: had to wait 6 weeks before i could have it, now my babe is 14 weeks!!
i've been bleeding VERY heavily for the last week, my question is...is this normal?
i had the depo jab before i got pregnant & NEVER bled at all...has this ever happened to you & how much longer should i leave it before going to GP?

You should certainly talk to your doctor and make sure everything is ok, especially if you're bleeding heavily enough for you to be concerned about it. The thing your doc would probably be most concerned with would be anemia from the heavy bleeding.

You need to understand that what you had regarding menstruation and hormone response BEFORE you had a baby is not going to be what you have after.
And you also have to understand that what you had when you were younger is not what you're going to have as you age.
So you really have two different factors you need to address here.

The most likely thing they will do is have you use a different type of contraceptive at your next shot date in order to get you to stop bleeding (if you've not done so by then).
Heavy, irregular, and continuous menstrual bleeding is -- by the way -- the number 1 complaint of shot users.

Oh this is like a bad dream, this happened to me and it continued the entire three months. The flow of blood varied over that time but never stopped. What a nightmare. This can happen. It can stay that way for three months and as long as it is not really heavy you are fine. The doctor told me there was nothing he could do to stop it/ reverse it. I was like no wonder this is birth control you can't have sex. THE WORST. I was fine on it before but, hell no I wouldn't take it anymore.
