as women age, they produce less and less estrogen, this means that the same amount of testosterone in their systems causes some male attributes like hirsutism, or a few whiskers. Some women use facial depillatories, some women shave, some women have lazer hair removal. But it is tied to the aging process and happens to most of us at one time or another in our aging process.

It's hereditary. I have light hair all over my face. I hate it. There is women with actual beards that they don't shave. Gross. I've seen this. It's called hirsute.

It is usually down to hormone levels and also linked to those special times of the month!
Keep tweezers in your bag and have a quick pluck if you spot any sign of hair growth.

Unwanted hairs, yes this is common and like you, I noticed it a couple yrs. back on women and didn't want one either. But say 30's and up. your hormones and your body change especially after pregnancy, and unwanted hairs start creeping up on you. Not only in beard areas, but even on your boobs. Laugh all you want but next thing you know you will see one. So what to do, pluck, wax if its that bad. i only have like 3 hairs that sneak up on my chin, and I pluck, but those 3 started as 1. So keep an eye out and twezers available. You may already have 1 or 2 that you can't see.

its common in some women

Many women, especially those going through menopause or who have gone through it, get more facial hair because they have less estrogen. Many women who are younger when they get extra facial hair get it because of a hormone imbalance. Too much testosterone or not enough estrogen. I have this problem but it's not bad enough that I have a beard. I just pluck out the hairs that are black. There really aren't that many and they are scattered. Doctors can prescribe hormone treatments which can help women avoid facial hair but it doesn't work in all women. Women can shave or get laser hair removal. Everyone has hair all over their body and every woman with hair has hair on her face. It's just blonde and very tiny. Hormones make the hairs get darker, thicker and grow longer. There's not too much that can be done to prevent it. You just deal with it when you get it.

Its normal, is a lack of estrogen. Women's voices also get deeper with age due to the increase in testosterone. two years ago I started getting dark hair around my lip, when I never had the problem before. I use, "Nair facial hair removal cream". It numbs your lip the first two days, but the hair won't come back for awhile.
I even have an increase in hair growth under my arms, I have to shave everyday now, when it only used to be twice a week! LOL
