Sweety, i was very scared when i first started using them too, but trust me, you got the most comfortable tampons u couldve gotten, its not going to hurt at all. The worst that could happen is u could feel a pretty strong feeling of discomfort the first couple of days but then after that u should not even notice u have it in, trust me, youll be fine. Heres what u do, just go in the bathroom or ur bedroom, anywhere where u feel comfortable, just sit and get aquainted with the tampon at first. Get an unused one, unwrap it, push it out of the plastic applicator, get used to seeing what ull be using, and one u feel comfortable with handling it, then go somewhere u feel comfortable trying to put one in. Just take it slow, use deep breaths if u r scared, unwrap the tampon, hold the plastic applicator at the bottom near the stick, keep taking slow deep breaths to keep ur self calm and slowly push the tampon in a little at a time, if it becomes too uncomfortable take it back out, give urself some time to rest and then in a couple hours try again with a new one. But if it doesnt bother u too much, just go ahead and push it the rest of the way in, and put ur finger on the end of the stick at the bottom of the applicator, and use ur other fingers to pull the plastic applicator down towards the floor. the tampon should stay inside and then u go ahead and throw the plastic applicator away. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but just make sure u move alot if it is uncomfortable, sit down or crouch down and then stand back up, do movements like that, it will help to make the tampon "less stiff" and more pliable, then u will barely feel it. Trust me, ur gonna be just fine, i started mine at age 11, and right away had to use tampons. Dont worry, the key is to take it slow. Good luck sweety! *hugs*

You should probably wait.

Ha, I remember how *not scared* I was when I first using tampons. Of course, I neglected to read the instructions, so I put it on the COMPLETE wrong way. After I realized how to do it correctly, I was pretty scared as well, though...

Its all a matter over mind thing. Tampax pearl is one of the most comfortable tampons out there, and its all that I use. If you're afraid that its to big and that it might hurt, try the lightest one first, and it will give you an idea of how it will feel. I promise you'll get over it..

I was scared when I first started using them too. Just talk to your mother or a close friend who uses them, and they will help you through this tough time.
good luck!

Of course you're scared, you don't want to get hurt. That's only natural. BUT, girls learn how to use them everyday. You can too. How much it hurts depends on you. If you reach resistance, don't just push harder. Try this: Get the smallest size you can. Put your foot on the toilet and relax. Place tampon over vaginal opening and begin insertion. When you run into resistance, tilt tampon toward your back, and continue. Make sure you get it in all the way. It should go past the bone in the front of your canal. If it
