Hurts to use a tampon now?!


Question: i have had my period for about 3 years. and usaly only get it like evert 2-5 months. i just ogt mine and hadnt had it in like 4 months and i used tampons a that last few times and it didnt bother me. i use tampax pearl regualr, the only ones that dont leak, and its hurts, kinda burns a little when i use a reg. but it dont really hurt or anything when i use the lite ones. but still does a little. is there sumthin rong with me?

if its an actual burn you may want to ask your doctor about it - it could be a reaction from the tampon. Also, if this is your first time using 'tampax pearl' and you usually use something different, i'd suggest switching back to what you usually use.

if it just hurts, you could just be tight... :)

no. i think your just not inserting it right. its not supposed to hurt at all, just take it out and try again with a new one.

maybe you are too dry (use a little spit) when you put it in, or you have one that doesn't match the flow. Don't use a big honking one if you're fairly light that day. Relax so it goes in better

First problem is that you only have a period every 2-5 months. That could be a sign of something severe. Second, inserting a tampon should not burn. Sometimes it may feel a bit uncomfortable, especially if you are a virgin. But it should not burn. Talk to your mom or your doctor.
