Are there other ways to have less frequent periods other than birth control pill!

Question: i hear bc pills can stop or give less frequent periods, but is there any other birth control or anything else that has the same effect without having to take pills every day.

there are a whole bunch of bc methods that are not pills
there;s the nuvaring, which is a small ring inserted by a dr up there and it releases hormones slowly and needs to be replaced every few months, there;s the depoprovera shot, (which i wouldn't recommend), which is a shot given by the dr every few months as well, there's the bc patch, which you stick on your body like the smoking patch and it slowly releases hormones and needs to be replaced monthly, and there's a new pill that just came out that i don't know too much about but i think it's called lybrel or something...BUT before you decide you should speak to a doctor, there are alot of side effects and risks that come with the pills and shots and rings and patches and the doctors know which one is best for your needs, your body and your age...good luck!

Get your tubes tied.
Or get into amazing physical shape so all your body's energy goes to your physical condition, and not to making your period work.

getting ur tubes tied does not reduce ur periods. my mom had her tubes tied and she still has periods.
u can use the ring. That stays in for a month. Normally women take it out when they have their period. Just pop another one in.
i'm sure u can do the same thing with the patch but many doctors do not like the patch

Ok do not get on one that has you have a period every 28 days. People will say to "skip the placebo week" but you really shouldn't go against what prescriptions state to do unless you have doctor approval.

The only ones that I know of that give you lesser periods are Seasonale/Seasonique (four periods a year) and Lybrel (no periods).

Do not get depo provera, the side affects and health risks are not worth it.
