I had a recurring yeast infection a year ago. My doctor recommended Tea Tree Oil. She said to put a few drops in the bath but I found I needed something topical as well so I would mix about 10 drops with a water based lubricant and used that inside and out.

It sounds like it may be difficult for you to buy lubricant though so I would recommend plain natural yogurt. You can use it on it's own or with the tea tree oil if you can get it.

Apply it to the area, inside and out, making sure you get it right up to your cervix (sorry but yeast infections can sort of "hide" up there and it will spread again if you don't get all of it). Do this last thing at night before you go to bed. That way it will have all night to work and you can wash in the morning. Do it every night until you feel the itching and discharge have cleared up but it would be a good idea to continue using the yogurt for a few more days to make sure the balance has been restored and the yeast wont return. If you have recurrent thrush you may consider using yogurt for two nights after your menses (period) as this will get things back to normal before it has a chance to take hold.

The other comments give good advice about diet but another good thing would be to eat yogurt every day. It has live bacteria which help keep yeast in check in your digestive track so you'll be treating yourself inside and out. It also contains lactic acid which helps to correct the pH level in your vagina (it should be slightly acidic) when applied topically.

Tea tree oil is anti fungal (as well as anti bacterial) so it will kill off the yeast while the yogurt creates a less attractive environment for it to thrive in by returning your natural balance.

Yogurt was recommended to me by my sister (who has a PhD in a scientific area so I trust her advice) but make sure it is plain (not flavoured) and natural (it should have live bacteria).

Garlic also works because of its anti fungal properties but as another person said it's a bit smelly and would probably sting. Tea tree oil can sting but make sure you dilute it well with the yogurt and never use it on it's own.

The only other advice I can give is to only wash on the outside (the labia majora) and use a very mild and unscented body wash. Never use sprays or powder and never douche. These disrupt the balance of your vagina. It is self cleaning and these things interfere with this. Actually, it has been shown that using such products creates a more favorable environment for infections to thrive.

I really hope you'll feel better soon.
Good luck. x

Garlic. Use a peeled clove, one per night. Will be gone in 3-5 days. No doctor needed. At same time eat no sugar, breads, cakes, syrup or fruits.

Don't eat things with yeast in it just as a precaution, but more importantly, after bathing, make sure you wipe yourself down there very well and make sure everything is dry, and then sprinkle baby powder on to yourself to keep it clean and dry and sleep with cotton underwear on, and you'll be fine. It's a bit better than smelling like garlic.

Now, I've not yet been to India, but I do plan a visit in October. Is that close enough to qualify for answering your question? :)

Seriously, does your local pharmacy or chemist not sell Monostat? It's a very well-known treatment for vaginal yeast infections, and it's almost always available without a doctor's prescription.

Is there any reason that you cannot go to a doctor? You may answer privately if it's more comfortable.

curry it works wonder on constipation...

1. You can try Candid cream.
2. Mix camphor in coconut oil and apply.

Hygiene is the answer. Do not use any type of soap. Use multani mitti or flour or bhesan for cleaning the parts affected. You may also wash with butter milk once in a while. Ensure dryness of the area. Take 4 glasses of water first thing in morning. Do not use synthetic under garments. See the changes you notice and contact.
