Will having a yeast infection affect the results of a HP test?!

Question: I am 2 days late for AF and have a yeast infection from other medication. I asked my doctor if that's why I don't have my period yet and she said that doesn't affect that at all. But I didn't ask if that could affect a test result on a home test. Will it still detect the hcg the same. Or I am just plain not pregnant.

if you tested at only two days late, you didn't get an accurate read, yeast infection or no. To get an accurate read you must wait, six weeks from the first day of your last period, so you have another two weeks to go before there will be detectable levels of hcg in your urine.
And it is perfectly safe to use a vaginal cream if you are pregnant, it will not affect the fetus. Monistat is my personal choice for yeast, use it for one week.

the test will still be accurate yeast dosen,t affect it

It will not affect the results. Home pregnancy tests only measure the amoung of HCG (a pregnancy hormone) in your blood that will not be triggered by a yeast infection - only by the attachment of the egg to your lining.

Test away and good luck!

you could have a yeast infection b/c you're pregnant. i don't believe a yeast infection will make a test come out positive or negative, but it might be best to contact you doctor for a test at the office. you don't want to take any medication for the yeast infection if you're pregnant.

It won't effect the results of your pregnancy test in any way. But, you could be pregnant, try again in a week.

no a yeast infection will not affect your period being late or the results from an hpt. stress can make your period late and excessive exercise or physical activity can make your period late. yeast does not have anything to do with the pregnancy hormone though. i hope this helps you out!
