Depends on your body type, but probably the smallest size and absorption level to start with. Most young girls have problems with tampons at first, so stick to pads unless you really need tampons (for swimming, gymnastics, etc).
Yes, it's embarassing to ask your mother, but your mother, aunt, older sister, etc, are really your best resource right now. Don't be afraid to ask for the benefit of their experience.

Also, remember to change the tampons often - don't leave the same one in for more than 4-5 hours or you can get Toxic Shock Syndrome.

You should use the lowest absorbency that you need, try out regular ones & if you need more absorbency move up to supers.

buy a box of normal or even slims. then when you get comfortable or feel it is not enough absorbancy you can move up to super.

You can buy ultra slim ones for people who havent used them before. have a look in the supermarket or chemist. I used them to begin with-they dont hurt and you get used to them really quickly. good luckx

well start with the small ones
then if you see it fills up fast go to the normal ones
and when its normal and you know move up to super
but thats when its alot cuz it hurts when you take it out and its dry!
try the tampax ones
there is a box that has all 3 sizes on it!
good luck!

Agreed. I was 20 when i finally used them, so don't be worried. It depends on the intensity of the flow. Honestly I have never had to use higher than a regular size. There are some that are made for teens specifically. and try going to www.beinggirl.com. they send you some cool samples. And at that age it can be difficult to seek advice from your mom..But i have lived and learned. You can do that or talk to a girl friend. and my fav kind is Tampax Pearl. Also you can wear them for up to 8 hours, and if you don't really trust them at first try them with a panty liner for extra protection. They make them for all types of undies now. once you see that you are safe, you can go solo with it. and you seriously can't feel them after about 30 mins. kinda gives you some freedom when you go to a water park.

No need to be scared. If you are in sports, they might be better for you anyway. But try not to use tampons throughout the whole period - switch to pads at night and when at home.

As for size, you should try light or regular and wear pantiliners when trying these for you may leak. Then you can adjust for flow and your own comfortability. Age doesn't matter - the tampons are sized according to how light / moderate / or heavy your flow is.

If you usually completely soak a pad every 1-3 hours, you'll need Super. If you don't need to change but every 3-4 hours, you can get Reg. But if you don't soak a pad at all, and change pads for hygiene purposes (can't wear a pad all day!) then you can get the light. Or get light for the 1st couple of days, regular/super for the middle, and light for the end. They do come in boxes with a little of every size in it! Jst figure out your flow first - and just ask your mom. The WORST that could happen is she says no.

You should wait a year or two to try tampons. Just be satisfied with a napkin for now.

i advice u to use pads tampon had man problems
in insterting it and if u put it over than 4 hour it harm u
also u should ask ur mom to help u
