There are 3 holes down there...the one you pee out of, the one you poop out of, and the one in the middle. You want to go for the one in the middle. One thing I didn't get at first when I was a young girl was that the tampon doesn't shoot out of the applicator into your vagina. Instead, you want to put the entire plastic or cardboard applicator inside, and the push the skinny part of the applicator into the fat part. Make sure it is far up enough that you can't feel any of the cotton sticking out of you. If you can, use your finger to gently push up farther. I put the applicator back in the wrapper and then wrap that in toilet paper and throw away. Do not flush the applicator. If your flow is heavy you will want to change the tampon in a few hours. I know when a tampon is full because I start getting cramps. Gently pull on the string to remove the tampon, and you can flush it down the toilet. (unless something is wrong with the plumbing then you can't flush.) Standing up will be the easiest position to insert the tampon. You can put one leg on the toilet but I just spread my legs open a little and do it. Also, after you've put in the tampon, make sure to wipe off blood that could be around the outside of your vagina before you pull up your panties. Also, if you pull on your tampon gently and it does not budge one bit, it is not ready to be changed. It will hurt if you pull it out before it is ready, so wait until a gentle tug can pull it out.

There are instructions and a diagram on the box that the tampons came in. The illustrations show you how to insert them and they need to be at a 45 degree angle....obviously you put them in your vaginal opening. It might hurt the first timebut you shouldn't feel it once it's inserted.

Look in the box. There is instructions and pictures to help you. I find it easier to sit on the toilet to do it. Just relax.

The first time I used them I stood up to put it in, with one foot on the toilet seat, makes for easy access for a first timer

use the other girls' advice, and make sure it is in all the way, or else it is uncomfterble to walk. dont worry, it cant go "too far", as long as the string is still out its ok.

good luck!
