You COULD swim without wearing tampons, but it would be really embarrassing. Because since nothing is plugging it up, it'll just go into the pool. And that won't be good for anyone.

So, you have 2 options.
#1. Buy some tampons, or borrow some from a friend.
#2. Miss your swimming lesson.

Good luck. :]

ask your mom to give you some.

Buy tampons and wear them.
The blood won't flow or get in the water, but you have to be really quick and be immediately in and out so you don't have time to bleed.

well if you did swim...the pool would turn bloody red(GROSS)...you either wear a tampon or don't swim....pads won't work in the water!!
NO you cannot swim w/o tampons or swim with a pad in!!

It's not generally a good idea to swim without one and be on your period. It could be slightly embarrassing. Have you asked your mother if she could possibly go buy some? The stores are probably still open and if they aren't, convenience stores usually have some, or the vending machine in the bathroom at school, or even the school nurse.

Did you ask this yesterday? Ask your mom, a friend or the nurse for a tampon. You do not want to swim with out one because you still bleed when you are in water. It is an old wives tale that women stop their cycle when they are in water. Good luck!

If you can make it from the bathroom into the water without waiting too long, when you get in the water your period stops flowing for as long as you are in the water. you'll need to put a pad on right away when you get out of the water, especially if your flow is heavy. Ask your mom to buy you some tampons if your flow is heavy and you think you'll flow through your bathing suit in a short time.

Ask your mom to get you some....cuz you cannot swim without them...and you cannot swim with pads
Ask a friend...they prob have some

ok, here is the best answer..lol ask your mom to get you some slender junior tampons, they are real slender and even if you are a virgin, they will not hurt if inserted properly. You may not want to go back to pads afterwards. Blood only smells when oxygen gets to it so since the blood never leave and is absorbed within your body on the tampon you have less smell worries as well.

Contrary to what some people have written, you will NOT bleed in the pool, even if you don't have a tampon in. The pressure from the water in the pool actually keeps anything from coming out. However, in the in-between time (walking to and from the pool), there is a possibility of a very small leak.

If you started your period a few days ago, it should be lighter. If you can change into your suit and go immediately into the pool, you'll be fine. As soon as you get out, go immediately back and change. If there is any blood in your suit (at the most, a drop or two), just wash it out immediately with COLD water in a sink or personal shower.

If it is the first (or even 2nd) day of your period, then your flow might be heavier and you might want to ask your teacher to sit out the class. Tell them in private that you are having "female issues" (if it's a male teacher) or just tell them the problem (if it's a female teacher). Or you can always try a tampon. There are really small ones that you won't even feel.

And if you want to experiment and see for yourself, take a bath.

Yes, you can bleed in the water...I listened to an Adult who told me otherwise and it wasn't pretty. I was IN the water too, the whole time. Not walking around....I have had friends that had the same thing happen to them and it's embarassing. I would wear a tampon. Usually your guidance office will carry them if you don't have any and have no way of getting them tonight. You can call some friends and ask them to bring you acouple tommorow and meet up with them too.
