Was giving birth really the most painful experience of your life?!

Question: For those who were not unconscious the whole time

Answers: For those who were not unconscious the whole time

Yes especially when the epideral does not work

i dont have kids but yes i would imagine so.. i mean just think about it.. a 7lb (if your lucky it wont be any bigger than that) baby coming out of a whole thats 10cm.. lol yes i would say so!!

Before I had the epidural the contractions really hurt.
Giving birth after the epidural was a cake walk.
Healing after giving birth was hell.

I've experienced worse.

painful physically - yes it was definately the most painful thing I've ever done.

painful emotionally - no, that would be when your child gets hurt and there isn't much you can do to help. That is way worse than any physical pain.

no its not because your hole opens up on its on as you getttin closer an closer towarad havin a baby but it depends on how you took care of yourself an if your healthy an had no problems then you shouldnt have problems with the baby!

Not even close. I have 3 children and did not have any pain medication. I do not look down on anyone who chooses it however. It is called labor because its hard work and there is pain, but its only for a half a day and there is time to rest between every contraction. There are also natural chemicals released by your body that sort of put you in a "zone". Sorry its hard to describe. If it was so bad, no one would want to do it a second time. I think I had an easier time than my husband who had to be there but felt pretty helpless. I find that the people who spread the worst horror stories are uptight worrier types anyway. The more you can try and relax and trust your medical team the easier it will go.

It was painful but waking up after my gallbladder surgery was no picnic either. I had no pain meds and I was in soo much pain I still cringe when I think about it. At least when I gave birth I had a epidural (when it worked) to take the edge off. After surgery nothing until the nurse asked if I needed anything. Oh and before I found out I that I cant take codeine that was the worst abdominal pain I have ever felt. I was almost wishing for death I was hurting that bad. I was lying on the floor crying.

All the women I know would definitely say YES.

nope piece of cake I have a high tolerance for pain

No. Having a kidney infection was way worse. At least with childbirth, it's only intense pain for a little bit.

Definitely! Think of it as the equivalent of pushing a watermellon out of one nostril...

The end result is well worth it.
