X-ray question with regards to periods?!

Question: I was due for an X-ray today and was told I couldn't have one because i was gone past my 28 days cycle for periods.

Do they say this because there is a possibility of pregnany? Or because it could potentially distrupt the ovaries?

Because if its the former, than that's rather annoying since i'm a virgin.

Yes, they are postponing your xray because of the possibility of you being pregnant.

I know that you're a virgin and I completely believe you. You are probably a very honest lady. But from the health care provider's standpoint, consider this...

I'd have a pile of money if I had $1 for every patient who'd sworn to me (usually near their parents) that they were virgins, and were not. The hospital/xray lab just can't take the chance.

Worry not, you'll start soon and then they can fire up good old Roentgen's invention. (he's the guy who invented xrays)

Because of potential pregnancy. The xray can harm a fetus.

It all has to due with pregnancy. Hospital politics, nothing more.

Yes, they should not x-ray you if there is any possiblity that you are pregnant. Unless it's to detect a life-threatening situation.

However, usually they will give you a pregnancy test (pee in a cup) to make sure they are freed of all liability.

If you feel that you should be able to get one and it's not something you can wait to do, tell them there is NO way you could be pregnant and if they need you to, you will sign a release form to allow them to x-ray you. Or ask if they can give you a pregnancy test.

because of the possibility of pregnancy but I never herd of that before, they usually just ask you if you could be pregnant.

x -ray is never good for u to much radiation
