Help Need Advice - Ten Points For best Answer.?!

Question: I've recently been on Cilest and had to come off because i had side effects from day one nausea, headaches, stomach pains, severe pain in my calfs and knee joints and was constantly tired to the point of falling asleep on the bus home at four in the afternoon!
i went to my doctors and because the doctor who prescribed it for me wasn't available i saw another doctor, i told him that i was suffering from nearly everyside effect the leaflet that came with the pack advised coming off the pill for and he just laughed at me he said that it was either a coincednce or i was imagining it. let me tell you waking up at three in the morning with cripling pain in your legs and then crying yourself to sleep is not something i would wish on anyone. anyway he told me to continue taking them as hardly anyone had problems with Cliest what he failed to take into account was that i'm not anyone the side effects i was having were real he just didn't care

He recomended that i stay on Cilest and tough it out i stopped taking it that day.
I took Cilest again two days ago the first day was fine the next day i felt so sick i couldn't eat the dinner my boyfriend took me out for i felt tired and nearly fell asleep a few times and i had stomach pains and a headache.
Cilest is definetly not the pill for me but how do i get my doctor to understand this?

My doctor is an overweight middle aged asian man who i think has had little or no experience dealing with teenage girls. but i only just joined the practice and i don't know what to do should i make a complaint? or not?

First of all, Cilest, a simple oral contraceptive, like all medicines, can cause problems. If a medicine which is not for life saving purposes bothers you, don't take it.

Now, the question here seems to be, how do you deal with a Doctor who does not seem to be listening? "My doctor doesn't listen to me" is one of the top gripes about medical care.

You can either attempt to fix this by being as open as possible about issues. Good communication is the key to any relationship, especially when it comes to your health. But, would you stick with a boyfriend who gave this little satisfaction? Unless you live in a small town, there are going to be lots of doctors near where you live.

Finding a new doctor can be simple. Look in the yellow pages. I suggest you find a physician who specializes in Family Practice medicine. In your case, I suspect you would be happiest with a female. Make an appointment to establish care. Communicate as best you can. Write down your concerns beforehand and take the list with you. Bring copies of all old medical records.

Give her at least three office visits.

If this doctor disappoints, well, you know what to do.

You should go to a new doctor. We all deserve to have a doctor that we can trust and rely on and you definitely shouldn't be laughed at by your doctor. Don't waste any more time with him. Go see someone new. Best of luck to you!

It sounds like those side effects are way overboard. If it were me I'd definitely stop taking them! I would also make a complaint, this is not a laughing matter! I suggest changing doctors and find one whom you can trust, who takes your health seriously, and treats you with the respect you deserve!

Hey
Have you tired diffrent brands?
I was v.v.v sick at first but was put on to a much milder pill - and there are a few diffrent type around - mainly for people who are just on it for medical reasons rather than just contreception.

But my Gyne( shes one of the best in my state publish aurth.ect - so i trust her!) did tell me to tough it out and after a month or so the sickness ect. would go away - youre bound to get some kind of reaction because its putting so many diffrent hormones in to your body and changing all your body clocks ect.

Are there any other Drs at the surgery? Maybe a female dr. would be more understanding - when you call or go in to make the app. just ask if you could see a diffrent doctor :)
good luck x

Not know your age and why you are taken them it is to prevent an unwanted pregnancy or to regulate your period that is your call. However, the doc could be going with the fact that the body is making changes to which it has to adjust to them as does your mind. He could be a very good doc to some but not you. Yes you should feel comfortable and they should listen to the patient and if you feel not heard then find another who will it cold be another male doc or a female but someone you feel is doing you good. If you have had sex then maybe compare the pill to that, he first time or two was uncomfortable later it became much more pleasurable and something you look for if you have not your day will come. what ever your reason's good luck, as for reporting him that is something you must consider deeply because this is not only his life but his family and he could be providing very sound advice to many. Now if he was to be telling you too jump out of a plane with out a parachute and or he fondled you and you didn't want that then yes bust him.
