Answers: I know it is an over growth of bacteria in the vagina but what causes the over groth?

no, it's an over growth of yeast, a fungus, not bacteria. Actually it's the interruption or loss of normal bacteria in the vagina that causes the yeast to over grow, the bacteria feeds on the yeast to keep it under control. So when you take antibiotics, or have a new sex partner, or sometimes just swim in a heavily chlorinated pool, you kill off too much of your own normal bacteria and the yeast then is allowed to over grow. Eating yogurt every day is a good way to avoid frequent outbreaks of yeast. Lacto bacillus capsules inserted vaginally once a week will also prevent most occurences of yeast.

Dampness and dark causes the bacteria to grow

yeast infections can be cause by tight under wear, leaving on a wet bathing suit for to long, and it can be a std

its basically caused from bacteria, you can get it by sitting on public toilets.

It isn't bacteria growth, it is a FUNGAL infection. Since the vagina is ususally moist and warm it is perfect for breeding fungi

just alittle bit to add . i have also read that douching will also cause yeast infection.

i just threw up a little

an std is Sexualy Transmitted Disease
