How could child molestation & rape result in a girl/woman becoming infertile?!

Question: My friend was molested & violently raped very frequently as a kid, & 11 yrs. ago, the doctor said she'll never be able to have kids. Do you think her uterus is ruptured? She has never had any STD's or anything. She cries every night because she wants kids & she's tried EVERY natural technique to get pregnant, & nothing is working. She doesn't want to get in vitro fertilization. She wants to get pregnant NATURALLY. She's 29 now, & the doc told her that when she was 18. She was molested from ages 10-12.

What can she do? She's crying on my shoulder right now.

Your friend has my sympathy. Getting pregnant the natural
way is often difficult for many women. I am one of them.
There are many alternatives and that is something your friend
should be seeking. First of all she needs to be checked out
to make sure she can have children. Also don't rely on one
doctors comments. See several. Being raped should not
be a reason for her not to beable to have kids. Not unless
he used something to damage her inside. Only your friend
would know. Tell her to seek other alternatives, and by the
way, there is no statue of limitations on rape victims. The
person who did this to her can be charged and should be.

there really is nothing that can be done if her uterus is ruptured, and it is possiable. the only thing that can be done is to get a uteru transplant, but it is very new costs alot of money and it is risky.

Well.. I'm so sorry for hearing that, No child deserves that and I hope the sick pervert is locked up 4 good, But to answer your question, dr.s are not right all the time, My sister was also brutally rapedand she was tolsd the very same thing, she was 11, She is 28 now with 5, yes 5 kids. I believe if it's meant to be for her to have children she will and nothing will stop her. Tell her to pray and put it in Gods hands and let him do the rest... My sister was afraid too of never having children, but she did, so tell her to rest her mind cause it will happen if it's meant to be... and I'm sure it is.

sorry to hear about that ... just pray to god ... just keep trying never know if she can .. dr are not always right

First of all, don't listen to that doctor. It seems like practically every friend of mine was the product of parents who had been told they could never have children. Your friend needs to see a fertility specialist to assess exactly what is going on, and why she was told she can't have children. If that's explained to her in detail, she might change her mind about in vitro fertilization. It would be a sadness upon a sadness to have had this horrible torture inflicted upon her for so many years, and then to have it take away a loving, caring future with children and grandchildren. I have to think that in 30 years, when all of her friends are playing with their grandchildren, she is going to regret spending her fertile years not having in vitro fertilization--it's better to have children, if that is her dream. I am wondering if the reason she wants to do it naturally is that she doesn't want doctors messing around in her private parts, after all of the traumas she experienced. But if she explains that to the doctor, and has a friend there to support her, it's possible she could get through it with less trauma that she fears--and the results will, I am sure she will agree, be worth it! As for what damage she suffered--I guess it could be a ruptured uterus, though it might just be scar tissue due to infections and/or damage to, say, her fallopian tubes. There are tests for that, and sometimes surgery can fix it. My heart goes out to her.
