What do you do to feel better on your period?!


Question: Hey..I have had my period for 8 years and know the common tricks like a heating pad for cramps and things like that. But this period is being really bad and was wondering what you girls do to help your period? I just normally sleep a lot and take lots of ibuprofin. Wanna share any tips?

I have heard that:
exercise helps
Chocolate helps
Not Being so stressed
Herbal Vitimans help
But what works for me is Ibuprofin.

I take 2 panandol to deal with cramps. Drink a lot of water and get a lot of rest.

I have a microwavable heating pad that temporarily relieves cramps... but it only lasts for like an hour.

Ibuprofen works better if you feel that cramps are coming than taking them when you're already feeling the pain .. When my sister is about to have her period (or she has it already minus the cramps).. she pops an ibuprofen and that usually minimizes the pain she has..

Exercising regularly helps with menstrual cramps too .. You may not see results right away but i do swear by it ..

Exercise and eating healthy. (All the time, not just during your cycle). I used to have horrible cramps and just feel plain down, I do not like relying on medicine so I started walking and doing light workouts (crunches, squats, push-ups etc.) and eating lots of fruits and veggies. I feel 10 times better when that time of the month rolls around. ;-)

All the answers are good ones. I find it is good to take a couple Ibuprofen and then go take a hot shower or bath. That way the shower or bath starts relaxing those mussels untill the Ibuprofen kicks in.

I am also on the pill. That helps alot.
