Is this normal, and should I do this after?!

Question: My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about a year now. I was talking to my friend and was comparing sperm. When my husband ejaculates it is runny and white(which I thought was normal)? She said her husbands is thick. Does runny make a difference. And also, after we have intercourse I go straight to the bathroom and urinate. Should I do this? Am I pushing out all the sperm that he put in? What should I do???

I'm not sure about the sperm difference however, while it may not make a difference, try waiting a little before peeing. I know that males can't ejaculate and pee at the same time becuase the acid in the urine will kill the sperm. I am sure a bunch of sperm are getting in you that can make it to your egg, however any slow ones that had a chance of getting there later are probably getting killed by your pee.

i dont think that the texture of the sperm matters so long it is gettin in but i dont think that urinating straight after is going to help you concieve...its not pushing it out but its just not helping try not to xxx

yah it should be very thick. thicker than whipped creme. has your husband evey been hit in the testis

Okay first of all I hope her sperm isn't near where you pee from. Thats a great way to get an infection! Its better that you unrinate after sex it cleans unwanted particles away that way you won't get an infection. Also I would say maybe their is something alittle odd about "runny" sperm. I would have him go get his sperm count checked... you two may have missed the boat on being able to have children the "natural way"

Dont urinate...because yes it could affect your ability to conceive....just try to wait 10 minutes maybe...you dont have to lie horizontally for half an hour...just try to wait 10 mins....think about why women want to cuddle in bed after sex, its almost an evolutionary mechanism and I really believe it might have something to do with making sure the sperm get to where they need to be

Well i don't no what the sperm should be like , but i think that urinating will do no harm because u are just emptying your bladder and the sperm does not go into your bladder.

First proposal is to take out stress. Try forgetting about conception and then all of a sudden, you carry.

Next proposal is that your husband might see a specialist. If your husband is over 30 years old, there might be some advise helpful for him.

And: You will not loose any sperm at urinating.

Hope that helps since kids are real fun!

You can try positioning yourself with your pelvis higher than your abdomen for a few minutes after intercourse, but urinating after is normal and healthy and prevents UTIs and will not affect insemination. The characteristic of semen is variable and is no reflection on the sperm count/fertility. Good luck and God bless.

You might consider having your husbands sperm counted but usu sally thickness of ejaculate indicates how often a person ejaculates; thicker is fewer times recently, thinner is frequently.

Urinating has nothing to do with sperm in your vay-jay jay. Urine exits the body through your urethra not your v-jay jay.

Best of luck with trying to conceive.

hmmm, urinating doesn't affect too much the fertility, because you are urinating on another hole. You know, a woman has 2 vagina holes, different holes. But many times the sperm outside of vagina can fertilize also you, and that part will be cleaned by urine.

If you want to be pregnant I recommend you and to your husband a happy life together and most then anything a feeding based on vegetables, as fresh as possible vegetables!

Don't know about the runny and white part. A urologist can do a sperm count check on your husband. Regarding urinating immediately afterwards, however, while it is not pushing it out, your immediately arising is allowing gravity to draw the sperm away from your uterus. I understand that if you prop your legs up on pillows, raising them above your head (not by too much) just enough to tilt your pelvis, this allows the sperm easier access to the uterus.
