Nuvaring irritation?!
Question: I have been on the nuvaring for about three months and I have been having discharge and irritation down there. I used a monistat testing kit and my ph levels are normal. Could this be from the nuvaring? The discharge is like white and thick, not normal, and i'm sure it's not bacterial vaginosis or any other infection.

I had used the nuvaring for approx. 3 years before getting an IUD and I always felt a little sore and had a discharge. My ob/gyno said that was normal. If you get your yearly check-ups and all seems well, I would not worry. But if you are like other ladies and need an expert's opinion please make a dr appt and write down all your questions before you go. You should have dr that you can ask anything about.
I have definately noticed an increase in vaginal discharge since using the NuvaRing. You can always go to the doctor and have them check you out, because they are going to do a more accurate test than you can do with a home kit. But most likely you're just experiencing some increased discharge because of the ring being there. Make sure you've got it pushed up into you as far as it will go, because if it's not placed correctly it'll rub and can cause some irritation.
