I am scared I have cancer of the vagina?!

Question: I do not have any bleeding, pain, crazy discharge. I do have what feels like a swollen vaginal opening. Like if my vaginal wall is swollen. I have not had sex in over 3 months and it has been like this for awhile now. I am scared it is cancer or something. Their are no specific lumps or warts or cysts. Maybe that is the why I am on the inside but it is scary.

First of all, if you haven't had your Pap or routine gynecological exam recently, I encourage you to do so soon. Most forms of gynecological cancer are easily detectable in their early stages with routine GYN exams.

If there is anything going on with your body that causes you concern, you should always schedule an appointment with your physician. If your concern turns out to be something insignificant you will save yourself countless hours, days, weeks of worry. If your doctor does find a problem, early diagnosis and treatment will increase your chances of recovery.

That being said, there are many things that could be going on with you. Yes, it could be cancer but it could also be something else. One possibility might be something called a Bartholin's Cyst. You could try soaking in a tub of warm water several times a day for a few days and see if the lump goes away.

Check out the websites below and please, if the problem persists for more than a few days make an appointment with your family doctor or GYN.

you must make an appointment with a gynocologist, it is probably something very minor, you are making yourself crazy by not knowing

Cancer of the vagina is a very rare thing indeed. I would call a doctor and go see them, or a gyn. This could be something that you can take care of easily. If you let it go, it could be something that could damage your reproductive abilities permanently.

You could just have fibroids, or endometrosis. Why does everyone think it is Cancer right off the bat first thing?

Call the Dr set up an appointment find out what's going on most likely nothing but it never hurts to be sure.

well why the hell haven't you been to the doctors. and get what ever it is sorted. i doubt very much it is cancer. you have been worried sick for three months. and most probable over nothing. so get to your doctor pronto.
