Ladies, what's the worst you have ever seen your period?!

Question: The first year of my period, it came so heavy that I couldn't sleep at night because I literally had to change every hour or I'd leak. I had to miss days at school. After the first four days it would slow, but it would keep going on for a good week and 1/2. It was so bad that my doctor put me on mild birth control at 12 just to slow it down.

Anyone have similiar stories or why periods do this at first?

Don't worry. This happens alot. When my period first came i was really embarassed about everything because it hurt to run and i had to chane it all the time. I was devistated when i woke up one morning at my friend's house to see that i had got it all over her bed. But it eventually gets better and stops coming so heavy. You don't even know the worst stories yet. My friend had her period for 168 days straight! she had to take iron pills from loosing so much blood. and another friend of mine gets hers every two weeks!!! hope this is helpful

no noy yet i just got my first about 4 weeks ago or mabey 3. but im sure i will soon once it gets heavier

i guess i'm lucky cause i don't face any pain problems when having my period...i'd tell u 2 b patient and take some painkillers..Always have in mind it;s just 4 a few days per month...If u think the pain and leak r too intense go 2 a gynaikologist

im 12 i hardly get 1 AT ALL i am very irrugular like i might get one this month but next no nietheer the one after

Mine are pretty heavy (I'm 15, got mine a year or so ago [pretty late, I know]). It comes like every 3 weeks or so, which kinda sucks, but I'm used to it by now.

My mom had her period for 3 or 4 months straight last year, and had to get surgery etc, plus tons of iron supplements and stuff.

Your story sounds like it sucked a lot though, especially because you were only 12. Is it better now?
