You definitely could have endometriosis. MD's tend to stay away from that diagnosis in young women because it's uncommon and the only way to confirm it is to do a minor surgery and they try to rule everything else out first to avoid that. Unfortunately, young women DO sometimes get it and that tactic results in some unecessary suffering.

Endometriosis is a condition where the endometrium, or the lining of the uterus grows or attaches itself to other organs outside the uterus. No one knows yet why this occurs, or what can be done to prevent it and it is hypothsized that a lot of women have it and don't experience any symptoms. There isn't any correlation to the amount of tissue outside the uterus and the pain one might feel. In other words, you can have a lot of lesions and little pain or a few lesions and lots of pain. They just don't know why, though.

I went almost 5 years, from the time I was 14 with horrible menstrual pain beyond normal PMS, irregular periods and CONSTANT abdominal pain to the point that I had to crawl to the bathroom in the morning and I missed a LOT of school. I finally had surgey when I was 18 and they used a laser to burn off the endometrial tissue from where it was growing (outside the uterus, on the fallopian tubes, etc) It sound a lot worse than it is, it's very minor surgery and you leave the hospital the same day. They put you under general anesthesia and make 2-3 tiny incisions in your pevic area and send a camera in to take pictures and see where it might be growing. Afterwards they'll put you on medication to keep you from menstruating as often so that the lesions are less likely to come back
If you've had a lot of possible diagnoses and none of the courses of actions are working, I would ask the MD about endometriosis. THe minor surgery and the aftercare have been welll worth the pain that was taken away. Such a breath of fresh air to finally have a diagnosis and a plan tot ake care of it that works. Good luck!

endometriosis
is usually caused from your period.
check out http://www.endometriosis.org/symptoms.ht...
and see if you have any of these symptoms.

I take Ibuprofen for the pain that endometriosis causes me but talk to your doctor.
