There's probably nothing wrong. Most people's periods aren't the same every time. I've alwyas been a two or three day period person, but every once in a while on the thrid day it'll slow down to an annoiyng trickle that barely leaves any marks for three or four more days. (Basically, your period hasn't ended yet, as you say; it's just going really freaking slowly.) Our bodies are weird and complicated and unless this keeps up for more than a week, I wouldn't worry too much as long as there are no other problems.
And if you are really worried about this, just go see a doctor about it, they can do some blood tests and make you feel better.

Possibly a hormonal imabalance. I'd contact your Dr. so they can test your hormone levels. Best wishes!
