Hair today gone tommorrow??!

Question: Help! I had a baby 3 months ago, and now my hair is falling out ALOT! Everytime I put my hand in my hair 20 strands fall out... Is this normal?? I just want to make sure I don't have some weird infection from childbirth that is starting to take out my hair. I definately see why Britney Spears shaved off all her hair after her 2 kids...My hair looks awful!!!

It's common in pregnancy for a womans hair to get thicker. Now it is a nice perk of pregnancy, but once it's over often it'll return to normal. Resulting in the hair falling out.

Typically you lose hair every day. You might just be noticing it more as well as it thinning after the pregnancy.

it's normal but if you are really concerned then I would contact your health care provider.

umm actually you might have some kind of cancer idk but dont ask the internet ask your doctor asap!

hormones might be off. but unless you see thining spots on ur scalp you're fine, people lose thousands of strands everyday.

but if you really are concerned talk to your docot.
maybe change ur diet, or take some vitamins for it.

in the end i think its just imbalance of hormones for now

Yes, I had the same problem! My OGBYN said it was normal, and that it would get better, and it did. You should call the Dr. just incase though.

Four or five months after my first was born, I had scalp showing. It was pretty traumatic. Then my normally limp, super-straight, light-brown hair came in black and curly and sticking up all over my head. (It did eventually return to almost normal, just a little darker, and with a little curl here and there.)
I'm five months post-partum again, and I'm pretty bald again, but I can see all the little hairs growing back, so I know it'll be OK.
This time around, my hair guy told me to keep my hair short, because it's easier to hide the bald spots and the new short hairs ... And it definitely looks better.
Anyway ... Just remember that you don't really lose hair while you're pregnant, so you've actually got a whole head of hair you shouldn't have -- and that's all falling out now. It'll look normal soon, I promise!
