Urinary Tract/Bladder Issues??? :( May be TMI, sorry!?!

Question: I've been dealing with what we thought was a UTI for over a month now. There has been blood in my urine (a LOT to start with, but now it is not as much), I have pain in my bladder (sometimes sharp), there is constant burning in my bladder and my urinary tract (whether I'm peeing or not), and I feel the constant urge to pee - sometimes only a little comes out. My regular Dr. did 2 urinalysises (sp?) and they both showed the presence of blood but no bacteria, which rules out a UTI. We did one round of antibiotics with no improvement (before the urinalysis came back). I am going to a urologist today to figure out what the heck is going on. My general Dr. said maybe a stone (I haven't peed any out and it seems like a long time for a stone to be just rolling around in there) or maybe a polyp (sp?) in my bladder or urinarty tract.

Anyone else dealt with this? Any ideas of what is wrong?

I would guess a kidney stone. They can do some type of test (like an ultrasound) to see if there is a stone. I had kidney stones a few years ago and they are incredibly painful. I haven't had children yet, but people usually say that the pain is worse than child birth. Typically, when I have a stone, I often get some type of infection (UTI or kidney infection). If it is a stone, ask for pain medication, drink plenty of fluids (especially water) or ask to be put in the hospital with an IV so that you can pass the stone. If the stone is really large, they can break it up so it will pass easier. Hope you feel better soon!

could be a calcium kidney stone forming....did the doc do an ultra sound? I think he or she should! kelly

Aw, I am sorry to hear you are still having this problem =(

This sounds a lot like a kidney stone to me...I have not had one, but my husband has...and they are seriously painful! They can give you something to help break them up and pass them & with him the relief was wonderful!

Sorry I can't be much more help...I have had a UTI and they are hell, so I can imagine this is 10x more yucky.

Get better soon!
