I was 11 when i had mine and it came without warning. I knew it would happen some time but it still came as a shock. For me it was light on and off but not fully until later on like 3 months or so. It all depends on the person. It can hurt (tummy area), heavy, light, not last long etc
You should not worry about it, you cant compare yourself to your mum to give you an idea when you start. I would only go to the doctors if i was 16 and still did not have them so you have plenty of time.
A person who does a lot of exercises, it can stop or delay your period.
i used to be desperate for mine and i had to wait until i was 14 as my mum was 14 too. yours might come sooner or maybe not but dont worry about it. its really not something you should rush to have.
you could get it anytime now that you are 13. Don't worry though the first show isn't that heavy. I would carry a sanitary towel with you in your bag to be on the safe side
