It usually takes 2-3 months for your cycles to become regulated again after an abortion. During this time it is quite normal to experience period abnormalities. If however by the 3rd month your cycles are not completely back to normal, you will need to see your doctor as it's possible a hormonal imbalance has occurred. It depends on your body. It can take a few months for everything to get back to normal. Your hormones have to recongize that you are no longer preggers. I think the bleeding you had was because of the procedure and not really a period. It would be impossible for you to ovulate the same day you had an abortion.
