Best birth control to use if you have depression...?!

Question: I'm on antidepressants, and I'm trying to decide whether to switch from Depo Provera (the shot) to the Pill (my doctor suggested Yasmin). I've had no problems with the shot, really, but my therapist said that it can really screw up your mood (and if that happens, you're stuck with it for 3 months!) Does anyone know if the Pill is better than Depo, in terms of not messing with your mood? Or are there any other good forms of BC you suggest (other than condoms)...?
Thanks!

Depo definitely doesn't help depression. I'm prone to depression to begin with, and I think being on Depo has worsened my symptoms.

I've never been on the pill, because I know too many friends who got pregnant on the pill. Yaz is a lower dose of hormones, though, so it would probably be better for someone with depression. The option I'm going with is an IUD, simply because preventing pregnancy is my top priority (the reason I've been on Depo so long, anyway). The mirena and paragard IUD's do not have a history of severely altering mood. Planned Parenthood's website has a list of your options and sideaffects, it's worth checking out.

i have depression and have for some time now but i was using microgarnon 30 (the pill) and i was ok with it never had the injection not found of needle's and ive seen people go through really bad side effects with it! but if your undecided have a word with your doc and express your concerns good luck whatever you chose
