PH of vagina?!

Question: I know that the pH of the vaginal secretions is between 4-6 (acidic). Is this an ideal site for the life of sperm?

Actually, yes, it capacitates the sperm, so that an outer covering is dissolved, so that it can more easily fertilize an egg. And actually, without some exposure to the acidic environment, the sperm can not fertilize an egg. But, also, on the flip side, the acid can do more damage to the sperm as well, if exposed to the acid for too long before a chance encounter with an egg. Ejaculate is basic in pH, which helps protect the sperm and promote their survival. So the answer is, that it is a balance.

Sperm will survive with any Ph level. It more about stress and other factors.

lol, no idea...

dont worry, life will find a way :)

some sperm dont make it, but really the acidity is the least of their concerns (they could get lost, lose their flagella, get attacked by the woman's immune system, etc)

this is why there's a lot of them during ejaculation. the more there are, the better chances of ONE sperm getting into the egg for fertilization.

Mmm so that's why it tastes a bit bitter!
