Answers: details please (ie: how do you get it, what are the effects, etc.)

Yeast is a fungus referred to as Candida. Yeast is commonly present on normal human skin and in areas of moisture, such as the mouth and vagina.

Vaginal yeast infections occur when new yeast is introduced into the vaginal area, or when there is an increase in the quantity of yeast already present in the vagina relative to the quantity of normal bacteria.

If you have diabetes mellitus or are pregnant or taking oral contraceptives (birth control pills) or antibiotics you may get an infection. The use of douches or perfumed vaginal hygiene sprays may also increase a woman's risk of developing a vaginal yeast infection. Improper ventilation - say wearing nylons too long, tight pants, etc, can contribute to getting an infection.

Signs of yeast infections:
White, cottage cheese-like discharge
Swelling and pain around the vulva
Intense itching

For a few women, a yeast infection can go away on it's own just after their period.

A vaginal yeast infection is an excess growth of yeast cells in the vagina. it can be itchy and/or have a weird odor. you can get it from having sex with or without a condom, and not bathing afterwards. or you can just get it from not bathing at all. or either you can just get them from sweating or anything. go to a local drugstore and get a 7-day treatment. it'll go right away.

Yeast is a micro-organism that is in the environment everywhere. It is in your body all the time in some level or another. In a healthy body that has the right pH level, you never have to worry about it. However, due to illness, taking antibiotics, or having diabetes for examples, the yeast can overgrow. It overthrives in wet warm places of the body, especially mucus membranes. It can also be caused by having sex unprotected with someone who is infected with yeast, particularly those guys who are not circumcized and don't take care of their hygiene. that is why condoms are needed.

it's a fungal infection of the vagina. symptons are itching, burning or redness of the vagina.
it can be caused by having sex with someone infected, from latex condoms, wearing damp clothing for a long time and tight clothing.

A yeast infection is a very serious thing. You could get it when you down wash properly 'down there', if you dont shower everyday, or if you have sex with someone infected.

The symptoms are usually a burning sensation, uncontrollabe itch and redness at the sight. If it itches a little bit dont jump to conclusions and think its a yeast infection. It might just be a rash. the itch has to be where you cant take it anymore and you cant sit or you have to go 'in your pants' and 'fix' the situation.

hope i helped !
