Brownish green discharge!?!?!
Question: im 13 and i havent gotten my period in a while but i only started over the summer. today i got this dark brown almost green discharge. i am not sexually active. helpp ? i dont want my mom to think it is because of sex.

Sounds like your mom needs to make you an appointment with an OB-GYN. Brown discharge usually signals "old" blood and is completely normal for awhile after a period. But you say that it has been awhile so I don't think that's the case anymore. Greenish seems like a sign of infection, and does not have to be sexually related. Girls are prone to get infections, such as yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, and urinary tract infections. All of these are normal, happen to everyone and not only the sexually active ones. Virgins are just as capable of getting these because it has to do with bacterial growth and PH balance issues that just happen to us. Your mom should be wise enough to know this. Don't be afraid to tell your mom you have a weird discharge. Discharge is your body's way of cleansing out itself and a weird color or odour are indications of bacterial growth (infection) or PH imbalance. Wearing panties that aren't cotton, wearing tight jeans, thongs, rigorous exercise that makes you sweaty "down there" and even too hot baths can cause the bacteria to grow or throw off the Ph. Talk to mom because certain infections if left untreated can cause other problems such as painful periods and even infertility later on.
it happens! and all u need 2 do is goi to your mom and let her know. it may become nastty if u don't treat it. i mean it may not be something but what if it is??? so go and tell her. it is ok.
If it is you need to get it taken care of... you could go to planned parenthood or a clinic By yourself or w/ a friend... tell your mom why wouldn't she trust you, give her a chance... you may be surprised. she will be glad you came to her... women get infections all the tine.
ur mom is smart she will knw what it is.. shes prob experianced it ive never had that sorry
