Why are woman generally smaller than men?!

They need to have smaller feet so that they can get nearer to the sink.
ps OK, it was an old joke. Most females of the species are smaller as the males generally need to grow big and strong to fight to protect the females/cubs - be fast to hunt for food etc or just to prove themselves to be good breeding prospects to the females. It's a nature thing!

It's just genetic.
because they are less masculine.
women more fats - seem smaller, due to gravity
men - more muscles - oppose gravity

I couldn't find any evidence.. but it seems that in most warm-blooded creatures males are larger; and in most cold-blooded (insects and spiders included) that females seem to be larger..

It's from the cave man days, when we used to club you on the head.
Men had to chase down and fight saber tooth tigers. Women had to pick berries and keep the cave clean. The bigger guy more often got the tiger and the smaller guy was the bait. Bigger guys evolved. Women didn't need the size and a smaller woman needed less food.
