Answers: i heard that if a woman have unprotected sex within 14 days after her period she can't get pregnant. how true is that?

That is totally untrue. Whoever told you that got everything backwards.

Most women ovulate in the middle of their cycle. Sperm can live anywhere from 3-7 days after ejaculation. If she ovulates while live sperm are still present in her fallopiant tubes, the egg can be fertilized. So surely you can see that it's possible to get pregnant from sex you had days or even a week earlier.

Pregnancy is MORE likely if you have sex before her ovulation. Much more likely. It is less likely she'll get pregnant after her ovulation is over, or during her period, but it is still very possible. It's still possible because occasionally a women ovulates later than usual, or even twice.

I thought you ovulated 7 - 14 days after your last period. If someone is worried about it then they should have protected sex and get on a pill.

That will make sure there are no questions.

hey you could get pregnant anytime of the month. but yes within the 14 days of your period its very possible to get pregnant. about 14 days after your period you ovulate and thats when your at a higher risk of getting pregnant.

It's not true. You can even get pregnant if you have sex DURING your period. Always practice safe sex.

You can get pregnant any day of the month, any day of the year. We'll call it 30/365.

There is no time of the month that a woman cannot get pregnant. It's always possible, even with birth control and condoms.

And, just an fyi....14 days after a girl's period is when she is MOST LIKELY to get pregnant.

Ovulation usually occurs about mid-point in a woman's cycle. To count a cycle, you count the first period day as day 1. If a woman has a 28-day cycle, then the most likely day she'd ovulate is the 14th day following the start of her period. A woman with a 35-day cycle would most likely ovulate about day 17 or so.

The trick is to remember that there is NO "safe" time. Just because a woman "typically" ovulates about mid-cycle, that does NOT mean that it will be that way every single month. And some women can ovulate several times every month. And if a woman's cycle is irregular (24 days one month, 40 the next), then all bets are OFF.

In actual practice "periodic abstinence" and "fertility awareness" work as a contraceptive only about 70-75% of the time.
This leaves a 1-in-4 chance for failure EVERY time you use this method. Those are NOT odds I'd be willing to take.

That's actually the most fertile time. You of course can get pregnant anytime during your cycle excpet for menstruation, but days 6-14 are the most fertile, especially is you have a 28 day cycle. Good luck and remember to practice safe sex.
