Please please help me?!

Question: recently i seem to be permanently tired, even when i sleep for hours and hours, and everytime i stand up my head goes dizzy, and my vision goes for a bit, and sometimes i just randomly feel dizzy, and also my periods have been really mad, like in december i got my period on the 14th, then a really light one like a week later, then last month i didn't get my period until the 30th, and then i got it again on the 18th of this month, do you have any idea what could be wrong with me :(?

also, i've booked a doctor's appointment but the soonest i can get it is mid-march!

I can't diagnose you but it sounds like one problem may be causing the other...

There are many different reasons that your period could be so out of whack, so you will have to talk to your doctor about that.

Every time you have a period you lose blood. Losing blood causes you to lose iron (because there is iron in red blood cells). If your iron level is low to begin with - because you don't get enough in your diet...people who don't eat a lot of red meat often have low iron levels - then having your period so often could be making you slightly anemic (which just means your iron is low).

Iron helps "bind" oxygen to our red blood cells. If you aren't getting enough iron your body has to work harder to operate normally because it can't get the amount of oxygen that it wants. This makes you feel tired, dizzy (especially upon standing), and weak. You might feel like you are breathing harder than normal or your heart is racing when you haven't done any kind of exercise.

My suggestion would be to go to the store and get an iron supplement to take on a daily basis. Regular iron tablets can make some people constipated, so the better kind to get is called Slow-Fe (it releases the iron over a longer period of time instead of all at once, which is nicer for your GI tract). It's in a white and pink box in the vitamin aisle. It also probably wouldn't hurt for you to get a daily vitamin like Centrum to take as well.

Hope this helps a little. Good luck!

take iron supplements during your period

i would go to hospital. and get yourself checked out. you could be diabetic. or suffering serious iron deficiency
