Pap smear...?!
Question: Ok...i have had sex with 5 guys...and thats alot i know, but i really think i need to go get a pap smear. I am not having any symptoms of anything i just want to make sure i am free from everything. But i don't know how to ask my mother because then she is going to want to know how many guys i have slept with. So if i scheduled one by myself, will the results be kept private from my mom? And does it hurt? Thanks.

See if you have a Planned Parenthood in your area. They will see you w/out your parents and will definitely keep everything confidential. They even ask if it's ok to call, leave voice mail, send mail to your house etc. You can tell them no, or if they call / send mail to have it come from a fake alternate name.
If you feel that you can talk to your mom about it at all, try talking to her. She'll probably want to help you more than punish you. But if not, find a way to get to a doctor. Definitely a good idea if you're sexually active. Oh, and use protection!! Anyway, hope that helps and good luck!
It depends on the laws in your state whether it will be kept private or not and how old you are. I've heard it is just uncomfortable not so much that it hurts.
yeah, well, how old are you? i think you'll be fine if you are over 18. If you are under 18 i think that your best bet is to go to the free clinic or a health dept. look, i have a pap smear every year just to make sure that everything is ok. i mean, i have been with the same guy for over two years, but it is always good to know that nothing is wrong down there.

You can schedule one yourself and ask to ring up for the results not have them posted out to you, then it will remain confidential.
It is sensible to have one done and it is not painful, a little uncomfortable and undignified but not painful.

The thing you need to tell your mom is that a pap smear does not only test for STD's, but also cervical cancer. I immediately started getting them when I turned 16, even though I didn't have sex for a few years after that. Just tell your mom that the woman's exam is not just because you have had sex, many women just want to test for cervical cancer. And as far as hurting, if you have had sex, it wont hurt. Of course it is awkward, but it is worth it to get tested. And you can tell your doctor your whole situation, and then can call you directly when they get the results, you just have to confirm that it is you.
yah I think you have to have an adult over 18 years of age sign it but i dont know I have never needed one just a logocal guess , and by the way what do they do in the pap? just wondering b/c I have to be prepared for mine!!!
