A question about birth control YAZ side effects...?!

Question: i know that it is normal to bleed a lil even though your not on your period while on birth control. its only a small amount like spot or blotch. but it was saying if its excessive or a large amount it could be that maybe yaz isnt right for your body. i was wondering how much is irregular? and how often... because it is common that every time i use the restroom i notice a lil blood when i wipe and a lil dark brown stuff on my underwear.
i know it cant be caused by an std because my boyfriend and i lost our virginities together and still havent had sex without a condom... which was about a month ago. im taking the precaution of waiting until yaz adapts to my body. and i was wondering if maybe this bleeding was a sign of a bad reaction or something. im about 4 weeks into taking the pill.

I am on Yaz...when I first began I was spot bleeding for the first few weeks as well. If it doesn't stop soon though, and if you are worried about it, I would recommend calling your doctor :)

Stressing/Worrying about it might continue to aggravate the problem as well, so relax! It's not very unusual to spotbleed, from what I understand.

If you've only been taking it for 4 weeks, it is very likely that your body is still adjusting to it. I've always been told when trying a new brand, or starting on the pill, to give my body at least 3-6 months to adjust. This could be spotting, irregular period, mood swings, etc. Personally I didn't have that problem, but many others do. I would wait a couple months and see how you're doing then.

As far as the STD thing...no offense, but don't trust everything that a guy tells you. He might say that he's never been sexually active, but do you really know that for sure? And condoms don't protect you from STD's.

Anyway, like I said, wait out a couple months, and if you're still having problems, talk to your doctor.
