I'm so confused...I want kids but don't know what to do?!
Question: I had ovarian cysts 2 years ago. I had surgeries to drain them and remove them. I've been taking hormonal birth control to prevent them from reoccuring. I went to the doctor today and asked if I would have to take birth control for the rest or my life...she told me to go to nursing school and don't think about that until I'm 33 or so(I'm 25). I want to have a child when I'm ready. Not when a doctor tells me to. All and all she never answered my question. I want answers and I know to look else where cause that doc is a nut job but I guess I'm looking for support from people who may have been through this. Thoughts are appreciated.

1.) Look around for another doctor, she doesn't sound very sensitive to your needs.
2.) You can take birth control pills for as long as necessary. I'm certain if you want to have a child, you will be able to come off the pills. Ovarian cysts don't always reoccur.
uh, i think i would find another doctor. that's pretty insensitive, and, frankly, none of her business. she should have just answered your question. sorry.
