Depo concerns?!

Question: Why is it that doctors don't tell you that after Depo you have a longer infertile period then after other forms of BC? I had no real BC choice other then Depo due to side effects from other forms, and a sporadic schedule making most pills ineffective, but now my boyfriend and I are TTC and I'm afraid it will be a while before we can.

here what they say on getting preg Pfizer recommends that a woman stop her Depo Provera injections one year before she wishes to become pregnant. This is because it takes an average of nine to 10 months (sometimes more than a year) to regain fertility and begin ovulating after receiving the last shot.
honey i would not use depo.
Women who use Depo Provera may lose significant bone mineral density (BMD)." BMD measures how much calcium is stored in the bones. Using this method over time can result in a calcium loss, but calcium starts to return once this method is stopped.
Many women stop using Depo Provera during the first year of use due to irregular bleeding (spotting) and/or prolonged bleeding, which are especially common during the first 3 months of use.
* Common Side Effects include: change in sex drive, depression, nervousness, dizziness, nausea, change of appetite, headaches, skin rash or spotty darkening of the skin, sore breasts, hair loss and/or increased hair on the face or body

Depo is a horrible BC, after i stopped my period was horrible i wouldn't get it for months then would for months, it eats away at your reproductive system and can make the chances for having a baby less in

Because when women use depo the clinics/doctors offices get more money out of it. So they con tinue to allow women to use it. There are also many othre risks while using depo. Did you know you could become compeatly infertile!! Yea they didn't tell me that either now i have a 32% fertility rate at my "supposed" most fertile time. It pretty much turned my insides to mush. So get your fertility checked. The reason you have a longer infertile rate is because it is injected directly into your blood stream. And hormones are automatically released and circulating, while with the pill it takes longer to get into your blood stream because its a much smaller dose. Also the pill is out of your system within 3-4 days, or up to a month depending on your system.

Good Luck trying!!!
Hope this helped.
