How long does it take for a birth control pill to digest?!

Question: I have not been feeling well today, nauceous, dizzy, upset stomach. I took my pill at 10am. I drank some alka-seltzer to help settle my stomach now at 5pm and it made me instantly throw up. Is 7 hours long enough for a pill to digest?

3 hours, it usually says inside the pack that if you throw up or have diareeah within 3 hours of taking it, then it wont work, and you should either take another one, or you should use precautions for the next 7 days while continuing to take active pills.

Absolutely. The pill went through your system in about an hour- just like anything that you digest.
Just make sure you drink a good amount of fluid so there's something else in there with it, just to be positive it wasn't sitting in your stomach. But I'm sure after 7 hours you're fine ;)

Yes, 7 hours is plenty, but if you keep getting sick or are having diarrhea you may need a backup method.
